Elderflower in Slow Motion

Macro, at speed.

An in-house study in liquid and light: elderflower, shot as close as our optics allow and as slow as the moment deserves.

Every frame was driven by our motion control system, a Bolt Junior Plus on tracks. The rig repeats a camera move down to the millimetre, take after take, so the path of the lens and the fall of the Flowers line up exactly. No happy accidents, just a move we can run again and again until it's just right.

At 1000 frames per second, a splash that lasts a blink unfolds into something the eye can finally read: Every bead, every thread of liquid, held in crystal-clear macro detail.

Work like this is where we test what the studio can do and where the next campaign shoot usually starts.
